Eva Unit n° 01

THE EVA 01 is the first operational unity of the NERV. The fight against the first ANGEL will stay in spirits. Piloted by SHINKI IKARI, the EVA 01 is characterized by its mauve and green livery, its horn done in full forehead and this prominent chin.

It is for my part, the first aesthetic shock of Evangelion. Until now, nobody had dared these colours and a design so impressive. Terribly humanoide, abominably bestial as only knows the being the Man.

One is far from the design " limp with canned food " of GUNDAM. Here, the cyborg has the eyes which gleam with a sly light, smile grimacant, teeth ready of bitting of the Angel. For rare time, one comes there almost to forget his pilot to think that this bio-mecha acts by it even.

Almost forgotten also fights - nevertheless magnificent - of MACROSS. Here no exchanges of fire, attacks and the other retorts after an audacious operation. Here, it is the choice of a tactics. That breaks or that passes. In some minutes, several times in some seconds, ca succeeds and the humanity has the right to wait for the next attack... No right for the failure(defeat).

You doubtless know the essential principle which bases power, autonomy of the EVA UNITS. Some would say the principle of life of these humanoids: The soul. Without " this bow in sky above the waterfall " (as would say the philosopher), the EVA 01 would not be anything. In the flesh, the constituents which can restructure (or rather to regenerate) lives, hidden shadow and presence of the mother of SHINJI and it is there my second shock for NEON GENESIS EVANGELION.

All this power, this violence are only the fruit of a young lady. Much worse, of a mother who defends her child. The EVA 01 is only an empty shell without this will which animates him. Goodbye the muscular warriors, the wild fighters. The woman is the future of the man said somebody. In EVANGELION, it is the future of the Humanity as is is her and will always be her.
