The ANGELS of Neon Genesis Evangelion? " SHITO " in Japanese, "Followers" or "Messenger" according to the Bible. But whom, of which ?

Where from do they come? Who send them to earth ? Nobody has the answer. Only their number and their name are known: 17 Angels, in ceaselessly changeable forms, in extravagant dimensions (of some microns more than a mile ) in the surprising design which sadden to destroy the EVA UNITS.

One knows also that they have a structure ADN 99,89 % identical to that of the man but it does not inform us, the monkey having an even superior rate.

Nevertheless, all these ANGELS well have a common point: They have all a name. But why the NERV them does it give it one while its own EVA UNITS not recoivent that a number? This baptism of the angels is not doubtless innocent. Which is their meaning? Which is their symbolism?
